El talento mexicano volvió a encender los reflectores en Hollywood: Guillermo del Toro y Diego Luna figuran entre los nombres más fuertes rumbo a los Critics Choice Awards 2026, cuyos nominados fueron anunciados este 5 de diciembre.
Los premios, considerados uno de los termómetros más importantes rumbo al Oscar, se realizarán el 4 de enero y ya colocaron a México en el centro de la conversación gracias a dos de sus creadores más influyentes.
Por un lado, Guillermo del Toro, originario de Guadalajara, obtuvo 11 nominaciones por su nueva versión de «Frankenstein», protagonizada por Jacob Elordi, incluyendo la candidatura a Mejor Director, una categoría donde vuelve a competir de manera destacada.
Del otro lado, Diego Luna fue nominado a Mejor Actor de Drama por su papel en «Andor», la serie del universo Star Wars que profundiza en la historia del rebelde Cassian Andor, personaje que el mexicano interpretó desde la cinta «Rogue One». Su actuación en la segunda temporada lo colocó entre los favoritos del año.
Además del reconocimiento a los mexicanos, esta edición mostró un dominio claro de otras producciones. La película con más nominaciones fue “Sinners” (Warner Bros.), dirigida por Ryan Coogler, que sumó 17 nominaciones, incluyendo Mejor Película y Mejor Actor para Michael B. Jordan.
En segundo lugar, la épica “One Battle After Another”, de Paul Thomas Anderson, consiguió 14 nominaciones, destacándose como una de las producciones más fuertes de la temporada.
